All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ LUCRETIA DAVIS ROBERTS ADDISON, Sept. 13 - Lucretia Davis Roberts, wife of William Roberts, died of chronic mitral stenosis, on Sept. 4, 1944, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Bisel, in Addison, at the age of 78 years, 16 days. She was born August 19, 1866, in Garrett County, Maryland, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Caroline (Turney) Davis. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Bisel and two sons, George Roberts, Confluence, and Everett Roberts, Clarksburg, W.Va. One daughter, Mrs. Eva Shaulis, is deceased. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, two sisters and one brother, Russell Davis, of Ohiopyle. Mrs. Roberts lived 54 years in Listonburg. Funeral services were held at the H. B. Rishebarger Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 6, by Rev. C. T. Page, pastor of the Addison Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment was made in the Addison Cemetery under direction of H. B. Rishebarger. The pallbearers were A. C. Hartzell, James W. Rush, Frank L. Jefferys, Charles H. Bird, D. B. Augustine, John Van Sickle. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Meyersdale Republican, September 14, 1944
