His death was caused by toxemia and aremia. He was taken from his home in Salisbury in a very serious condition, just a week before he died, and suffered terribly at intervals during the last seven or eight years from a complication of ailments, including asthma, a bad bladder condition, and badly impaired eye sight. Mr. Robertson came to this vicinity of Salisbury with his parents, about 60 years ago, and for many years he worked in the coal mines in Elk Lick Township. His wife, who preceded him in death April 20, 1937, was Amanda Thomas before their marriage, and was a daughter of Abraham Thomas, for many years a well- known citizen of Elk Lick Township. Since the death of his wife, Mr. Robertson lived alone most of the time. He is survived by these children: William of Coal Run; Clarence, an inmate of the Veterans Hospital at Cotesville, Pa. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, namely, James of Cleveland, Ohio; Andrew of Buffalo Mills; John of Cresaptown, Md.; Mrs. Sarah Shirey of Bard; Mrs. Alice Bowman of Somerset, and Miss Grace Robertson, whose present address is unknown. The funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Robertson, at Coal Run, and were conducted by Rev. Ira S. Monn of Salisbury. Interment was in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury mortician. Meyersdale Republican, March 18, 1943
