Rodger, 88, of Hooversville, died Dec. 22, 1989, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1901, in Hooversville, son of Amaniah and Jane (Clark) Rodger. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Mildred Yost; son, Ryan; brother, John P., and sister, Ida Miller. Survived by sister, Beulah Stewart of Melbourne, Fla.; also numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Somerset State Hospital. Formerly employed by Sen. J. Irving Whalley and was Somerset County Republican chairman for many years. A member of Hooversville Christian Church, Somerset Lodge 358, F & AM; Harrisburg Consistory; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona. Was a charter member of Hooversville Lions Club. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Homer Tantlinger.
