Rodger, 95, Hooversville, died Sept. 25, 1984, at Ephrata Hospital. Born Jan. 31, 1889, son of Amaniah and Jane (Clark) Rodger. Preceded in death by sister, Ida Miller. Survived by wife, the former Kathryn Sherbine; children: Hazel, wife of Paul Roth, Souderton, Pa.; Emma Jane, wife of Fred Zimmerman, Manheim, Pa.; Kermit, married to former Jenny Riddell, Frederick, Md.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Clark W., Hooversville; and sister, Beula Stewart, Florida. Life-time member of Hooversville Christian Church where he served as superintendent for over 50 years; charter member of Stoystown and Hooversville Lions clubs; charter member of Knights of Pythias; member of Somerset Masonic Lodge and the Shrine, Altoona. Retired teacher and Hooversville postmaster. Founded first high School in the Hooversville, Cairnbrook and Stoystown area in 1915. Death breaks marriage union of 69 years. Friends will be received at Read Funeral Home, Hooversville, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Thursday. Services 2 p.m. Friday at Hooversville Christian Church, the Rev.
