(Shroyer) 12/11/06 Daily American Alice E. (Shroyer) Rogers, 91, Somerset, formerly of Jerome and Boswell, died Dec. 9, 2006, at the Patriot Manor, Somerset. Born Dec. 8, 1915, in Boynton, daughter of Samuel and Henrietta (Norris) Shroyer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Howard on Dec. 28, 1974; 10 brothers and three sisters. Survived by sister, Lois Shroyer, Somerset, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Jerome Church of The Nazarene, where she served on the church board, was treasurer and a Sunday school teacher for many years, and was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Also a member of Unite Here (ILGWU). Retired employee of the former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell. A volunteer for St. Francis Sharing and Caring for many years. She enjoyed making crafts out of plastic canvas and doing crossword puzzles. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Nathan Zipfel officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Jerome Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 351, Jerome, Pa. 15937.
