Born in Somerset County, Jan. 27, 1895, the daughter of Jacob Calvin and Estella Flanigan Younkin. She had lived in Ashland for the past one and a half years coming from Akron, O. Mrs. Rogers had been an organist and piano instructer in Pennsylvania for many years. She was a graduate of Beaver College, Pa. and a member of the Eastern Star and the Rebekkah Lodge in the Akron, O. area. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Akron for many years and had recently become a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland, O. On Nov. 19, 1919 she was married to Joseph A. Rogers who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1980. The couple had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 19, 1979. She is survived by two sons, Calvin Y. Rogers of Ashland and Glenn J. of Lake Charles, La.; one sister, Lillian Doretha Ramsey, Painesville, O. and one brother Russell Younkin of Clairton, Pa.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Dembow-Primm Funeral Home with the Rev. John Landrum and the Rev. Clyde Allen Cox officiating. Burial at 1 p.m. Monday at the Addison Cemetery, Somerset County with the Dr. Arthur J. Gotjen officiating. Daily American, Apirl 5, 1980 [R846]
