Romesberg, 73, Johnstown, passed away May 17, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 24, 1926, in Garrett R.D., son of the late S.D. and Edna (Cummings) Romesberg. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Pauline Fair. Lyle was very proud of and dedicated to his family which includes his daughter Gaye, wife of Bernard Valentine, son Randy, married to the former Cecelia Gregory; grandsons Joel and Braden Valentine and Luke Romesberg, all of Johnstown. One of children, he is also survived by brothers Bert, Phoenix, AZ.; Lynn of Cuyahoga Falls, and sisters: Jayne Cole, Akron, Ohio, and Joy Harris, Johnstown. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific, and was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., Franklin Division. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, family get-togethers, and going to auctions. At the age of 12, he played guitar on radio programs. He was an accomplished baseball player in Somerset County leagues and enjoyed all Pittsburgh games. He was his grandsons' greatest sports fan. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Moskal & Kennedy Funeral Home Ohio St. and Highland Ave., Johnstown, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Denton R.
