Romesberg Sr., 78, Romesberg Road, died March 4, 2008, at WMHS Braddock Campus. Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Blackfield, he was a son of the late Frank and Sadie (Wercheniser) Romesberg. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Forest, Paul, Calvin, Frank, and Virgil; and three sisters, Bertie, Myrtle and Ida Belle. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Marian E. (Kennell) Romesberg, whom he married July 14, 1948; his beloved dog, Chipper; a son, Thomas Romesberg Jr., and wife, Ruth; a daughter, Kathy McCoy, and husband, Don, all of Hyndman; three grandchildren, Melissa Romesberg, Tonya Der and husband, Greg; and Coby McCoy; two great-grandsons, Daulton and Dylan Der; a brother, Abe Romesberg of Ohio; two sisters, Christine Winestein of Georgia.; Rebecca Acree of New York; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Romesberg retired in 1988 from Sanner Brothers Coal Co., where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 F&AM and Operating Engineers Local 37. He was also an avid hunter and loved to play the organ. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home 11 a.m. Friday with brother Terry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery, Southampton Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Christian Church, c/o Dorothy Miller, 306 Schellsburg St., Hyndman, PA 15545, Hyndman Area Rescue Squad, or Ellerslie Rescue Squad.
