He was the son of the late Hiram and Mrs. Phoebe Ann (Pletcher) Romesburg, and was born October 30, 1898. He is survived by his wife, Viola (Poorbaugh) Romesburg, and the following named children: Thelma, Mary, Frank, James, Clifford, Shirley, William and Samuel, all at home; also by his mother, Mrs. Hiram Romesburg of Connellsville, and the following brothers and sisters: James, Ursina; Jonas, Somerset; Austin, Pittsburgh; Mrs. William Curtis, Connellsville; Mrs. Bruce Nikalo, Markleton, and Mrs. Harry Gilbert, Somerset. Mr. Romesburg, who was a miner, was recuperating from pneumonia when he had a cerebral hemorrhage which caused his death. He was a member of the Garrett Evangelical Church and was one of the most efficient active members of the Garrett Volunteer Fire Department The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Evangelical church, with his pastor, Rev. John Miller, officiating. The pall bearers, members of the Fire Company, were Frank Yutzy, Clifford Lee, Durbin Lohr, Fred Christner, Mack Hartzell and Harry Brant. Interment was made in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Son of Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, March 11, 1948
