   Albert J. "Bill" Roose, 91, Acosta, died July 17, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born Aug.
  22, 1914 in Maxwell, Ky., son of Richard and Gertrude (Kirkendall) Roose. Preceded in
  death by parents; two sisters, Myrtle Roose, and Hilda Davis; and two brothers, Gordon
  and Walter. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Joan Zanoni; daughter, Kathleen,
  married to Russell Spreen and grandson, Christopher Spreen, all of West Chester.
  Brother-in-law of Rudy Zanoni, married to Josephine Kozel; Melio Zanoni, married to Agnes
  Tims; and James Zanoni, all of Acosta. A World War II, U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving
  in the Pacific Theater. Retired employee of the former Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel. Member
  of All Saints Catholic Parish and the USWA. Private viewing, followed by funeral Mass for
  family and friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Chapel, Acosta, the Rev. Justin A.
  Ratajczak, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, Somerset County Memorial Park. Arrangements
  by Hoffman Funeral Homes.
