Born July 15, 1917, in Paddytown, a son of the late Charles H. and Harriet (Smith) Rose. Also preceded in death by brothers, William and James, and a sister, Jean Ghormiby. Survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Maola Brant; sons: Glenn, Jefferson City, Mo.; the Rev. Scott, Racine, Ohio; Jay, Earle and Eric, all of Confluence; and daughters: Wilma Jean Boyd, Mansfield, Texas; Nancy I. Rose, Duxbury, Mass., and Glenda Burkett, Greensboro, NC.; 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Sisters: Kathryn Snyder, Norwalk, Calif.; Bertha Burger, Chino, Calif.; Verna Reynolds, San Diego, Calif., and Ethel Pletcher, Scullton, and brothers: Charles Jr., El Monte, Calif.; Eugene, Mason City, Iowa, and Kenneth, Point Marion, Pa. He was amember of the Confluence Church of the Nazarene and Carpenters Union Local 2274, Pittsburgh, for 45 years. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Thursday) and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence.
