Rose, 81, Stoystown RD 3, died Dec. 15, 1984, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 20, 1903, in Turkeyfoot Township, son of William and Maggie (Lichliter) Rose. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and a sister. Survived by wife, former Edith Tressler, whom he married Nov. 10, 1924; and these children: Markle, married to former Betty Cornell, and Bernard, married to former Sue Kang, both of Gambrills, Md.; Mrs. Donald (Opal) Hagans, Kamter; Arthur, at home, Mrs. Arthur (Frances) Weyand, Stoystown RD 1; and Mrs. James (Dona Jean) Shaffer, Hollsopple RD 1; also 13 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Brother of James Verner Rose, Williamsburg, Ky. Retired coal miner and farmer. Member of Liberty Temple, Cresaptown, Md., and Tire Hill Local, UMWA. Family received friends Sunday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will be removed to Somerset Christian Fellowship Church, Stoystown RD 3, to lie in state from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. John Gordon, assisted by the Rev.
