Rose, 66, 219 Emma Lane, Windber, died Oct. 12, 1987, at Windber Hospital. He was born March 26, 1921, in Cairnbrook, son of late George and Annie (Hutzel) Rose. He was preceded in death by son, William; brothers, George and William; and sister, Vida Gindlesperger. He is survived by wife, former Bessie Fern Weaver, and these children: Linda, wife of Richard W. Kelly, Warren; David Lester, married to former Sharon Kearney, Windber; Edwin Glenn, married to former Karen Layton, Mine 90; and James Dorsey, married to former Betty Gordon, Windber; also 15 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was a brother of Ethel Shaffer, Berlin. He was a army veteran of Korean Conflict; former coal miner and steelworker. Friends were received at Meek Funeral Home, Inc., Windber, where services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Earl Crissman. Interment, Berkey Cemetery. The Republic, October 15, 1987 [R928]
