He was born March 26, 1918, in Ligonier Township, son of the late Harry E. and Janet (Scott) Rose. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Adam Eidemiller Inc., Greensburg. He was a retired lifetime member of the UMW and the International Union of Operating Engineers. Lifetime member of the Cooperstown Vets and Sportsmen's Club, Kingston Vets and Sportsmen's Club, Touchdown Club and the Jenner Rod and Club. He was a member of AARP. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Noel Rose, on Sept. 19, 1993, and a brother, Leslie Rose. Survived by a son, Harry "Ed" Rose III of Kittanning, and 2 daughters: Mrs. Robert (Janet) Hainan and Mrs. Edward (Joyce) Austin of Latrobe; also 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Mrs. Lynford (Helen) Buckham of Gray and Mrs. Theodore (Phyllis) McClintock of Jennerstown, and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Bell and E. Church Sts., Ligonier. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry C. McDonnell officiating. Private interment in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Helen H.
