Rose, 73, of Macdonaldton died Aug. 30 in Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born April 1, 1899, at Drifton, the son of Joseph D. and Elizabeth Thrasher Rose. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Mrs. Thelma Ernest Rose in December, 1969. He is survived by children Betty, Louise, Joseph and Joan. He was the brother of Mrs. Mary Seria of New Kensington; Mrs. Sadie Langer of New Kensington; Mrs. Samuel (Alice) Sebastian of Brooklyn, N.Y.; William of Wilkes-Barre; and Mrs. Victor (Agnes) Searfoss of Macdonaldton. He was a veteran of the Army during World War I and the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, Macdonaldton and a member of the Robert Walker VFW Post No. 7295, Berlin. Friends will be received in the Johnson and Son Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the St. Gregory Church, Macdonaldton, with the Rev. Z. A. Monet, O'Carm.
