Born Dec. 24, l992 in Stahlstown, son of the late Clyde E. and Flora Mae Ferguson Ross. Preceded in death by his wife, Alda Sleasman Ross; brothers, Calvin E. and Grant Ross; and sisters, Edith Queer, Olive Ross, Ruth Cams and Thelma Jones. Survived by 5 children: Mrs. Marion (Elsie) Saylor of Hollsopple, Roberta and Gertrude Ross of Somerset, David and wife Linda of Roaring Springs, and Clyde E., of Bakersville; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Morris of Canton, Ohio; and brother, Raymond of Latrobe. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Teledyne Allvac, Latrobe. Jay was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the L. Boyd Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Church St., Donegal. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Audrey J. Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery. Jamie Snyder Brown, Funeral Director.
