Ross, Jacob

  Jacob Ross, the oldest undertaker in Somerset County, died at his home in 
Shanksville May 22 in his 82nd year. His death was caused by heart trouble. The 
funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, from the Shanksville Reformed Church, 
of which he was a life-long member, the Rev. Frank Wetzel of Stoyestown 
conducting the obsequies. He was a veteran of the late Civil War, and is 
survived by two children, Charles H. Ross and Mrs. William Foy, both of 
Shanksville. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
