All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ KENNETH HENRY ROSS Fall of Rock Fatal To Berlin Miner Entering on his second day of work in the Salko Company mine at Macdonaldton, near Berlin, Kenneth Henry Ross, 30, was struck by a fall of rock Friday afternoon and died a few hours later from injuries sustained. Ross was working alone when the accident occurred. His brother-in-law in the next room heard the crash and called, but received no reply and on investigating found Ross lying unconscious where he had fallen when the rock struck him. The injured man was taken to the Somerset Community Hospital by the Johnson ambulance of Berlin. He died within an hour after entering the hospital. He had a skull fracture, intracranial hemorrages and face lacerations. He was a son of George and Bertha Barron Ross and was born October 27, 1912. He is survived by his wife and a son, six years old; also by three brothers and two sisters: Charles Ross, in the army medical corps in Washington State; Barron Ross, in the air corps at Malden, Mo., Merle, Allegheny Township, and Carrie and June at home.
