  Ruth E. Ross, 101, Friedens, died Sept. 18, 1997, at Patriot Manor.
  Born March 28, 1896, in Wells Creek, daughter of John W. and Emma
  (Pile) Ross.  Preceded in death by parents, brothers: the Rev. Melvin
  Curtis, Harry and William Ross and sister, Annie Miller.  Survived by
  nieces and nephews: Sheldon and Ruth Ross, Mary Ellen and Robert
  Meanor, Leroy and Emma Miller, and Beatrice and Jay Ewing.  Former
  school teacher and employee of IXL Creamery, Friedens.  Member of
  Friedens Lutheran Church and L.C.W. and Third Society of Farm Women.
  Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing at Friedens Lutheran Church from 1
  p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. James R.
  Ling officiating.  Interment, Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorial
  contributions may be given to Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, Pa.
