Rowan, 73, Somerset RD 2, died March 10, 1984, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born March 4, 1911, in Mill Run, son of George S. and Anna (Hall) Rowan. Preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: Violet Livingston, Olive Friend, Ada Tissue, Odessa Cole, Mabel, Vernelle, and Clarence. Survived by wife, former Olga Joanne Sawzik, and these nieces and nephews: Irma Rank, Opal Briner, Gladys Livingston, and Marie Fullem, all of Mill Run; Lillian Farley, Dunbar; Dale Tissue, Irene Allen and Dr. Christine Langton, all of Aiken, S.C.; and Dr. Patricia Sawzik, Pittsburgh. Member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset. Retired bus driver from Somerset Bus Co. and also retired from Somerset Newspapers. Veteran of World War II, serving in U.S. Army overseas. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Percy Ellenberger officiating.
