Royer GRANTSVILLE, Md., Dec. 1 - Peter P. Royer, a former resident of Garrett County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Forney, at Easton, Md., on Saturday, Nov. 29. He was a son of the late John and Eliza Royer, and was born on the Royer homestead near Keyser's Ridge, 76 years ago. The farm is now owned by Mr. Todd of Pittsburgh and is known as The Spring Valley Farm. Mr. Royer was married to Miss Savilla Emerick of West Salisbury, Pa., in 1886. Her death occurred several years ago. He is survived by one son, Hubert Royer, of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., who is employed by the General Ceramics Co.,of that place; two daughters, Miss Nell Royer, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Charles Forney, Easton, Md.; also by one brother, Rev. George A. Royer, Greenford, Ohio, and two sisters, Miss Lydia Royer, Addison, Pa., and Mrs. Tillie Stein, of Nebraska. Mr. Royer was a prosperous farmer of the county, retiring some years ago, when he disposed of his farm and located in Frostburg, later living with his son in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and daughter at Easton, Md. The funeral services were held in the Grantsville Lutheran Church on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock; Rev. S. D. Sigler, the pastor, officiating. His body was interred in the Grantsville Cemetery where his parents and his wife are buried. Meyersdale Republican, December 4, 1930
