Rugg, 85, of Confluence, RD I, died Aug. 6, 1986, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 2, 1901, in Somerset County, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Ohler) Rugg. Preceded in death by his wife, Viola (Bowers) Rugg; two sons; two daughters; four brothers; and three sisters. Survived by the following children: Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Harbaugh; Mrs. Ray (Phyllis) Harbaugh, both of Mill Run; Mrs. Carl (Geraldine) Shawley of Scottdale; Carl, of Mont Alto; Clyde, and Harold, both of Confluence; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eli, and Edward, both of Confluence; and four sisters, Mae Collins, and Sylvia Ohler, both of Confluence; Flossie Costello of Warren, Mich.; and Hazel Close of North Liberty, Ind. He was pastor of the People's United Church of Maple Summit and teacher of the Bible class. He also was a retired timberman. Friends received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today (Friday). The body will lie in state at the Maple Summit Church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday where funeral services will be held, the Rev. Harlan Eck officiating. Interment, Maple Summit Cemetery.
