Rugg, 78, Ursina, went to be with the Lord, Dec. 24, 2005 at Somerset Hospital. Born March 6, 1927 in Mill Run, son of the late Henry and Grace (Pletcher) Rugg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Clinton, sister Mary Colflesh and his first wife Mae (Laws). Survived by his wife of 56 years Dorothy (King) Rugg; sons Roger and Terry, at home, William, married to Judy (Swank), Somerset, and Greg Rugg, Somerset; and daughter Loretta, married to Donald R. Thomas, Ursina; grandchildren Lisa, married to Ron Megown, Confluence, Crystal, married to Samuel Farkosh, Rockwood, Mike Thomas, Ursina, and Shannon Rugg, Somerset; great-grandchildren Anthony and Derrick Megown, Zachary and Madalynn Farkosh; sister Alverda Colflesh, Trafford; nephews Barry Colflesh, Anchorage, Alaska, and Rick Colflesh, Granville, W.Va.; nieces Linda (Colflesh) Kimmel, Anchorage, Alaska, and Sandra (Colflesh) Smith, Kingston, Mass.; sister-in-law Hilda King, Hermitage; and aunt Grace Rugg, Mill Run. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in graves registration. A lifetime member of the Ursina American Legion Post 946 and served the community of Ursina as mayor since 1990. A member of the Ursina United Community Church of God, where he served as a trustee on the church board. A lifetime member of the Confluence Ambulance Service and was a member of the fire police for the Confluence Vol. Fire Dept. for several years. He started driving truck on the family farm and then for a logging company. During his career, he drove for Sterling Faucet Company, Oakland, Md., Barron Trucking, Cooper-Jarrett, Gribble Trucking, Gary Gribble Trucking and Gribble Transport until he retired. Following retirement, he continued to drive for Turkeyfoot Transportation until earlier this year. Kenneth enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, bowling, hunting and playing games with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, and from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Thursday at United Community Church of God, the Rev. Dean Hay officiating. Interment in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
