"Bert" 09/06/05 Daily American Wilbert R. "Bert" Rugg, 85, Mill Run, died Sept. 3, 2005, at his home. He was born March 15, 1920 in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, a son of the late Thornton and Susie (Ohler) Rugg. Also preceded in death by brothers, Henry, Lloyd and James Rugg and sisters, Alice Harbaugh, Annie Williams, Grace Basinger, Amanda Shroyer and Florence Ream. Survived by wife, Emma Grace Shay Rugg; son, Raymond Rugg and his wife Sandy, Mill Run; brother and sister-in-law, Paul Shay and Helen and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Rugg was a resident of the Mill Run area all his life. During his lifetime he worked as a farmer and timberman. He liked hunting and playing horseshoes and he was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers' Association. He formerly attended People's United Church of Maple Summit. Friends will be received from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Peter Malik officiating. Interment in the Imel Cemetery.
