November 11, 1941 January 9, 2004 The Rev. Ernest N. Rumbaugh, Jr., 62, Shippensburg, died Friday, January 9, 2004, at home. Born November 11, 1941, in Grant Township, Indiana County, he was the son of the late Rev. Ernest N., Sr. and Mary M.E. Heberling Rumbaugh. From 1979 until his retirement, January 1, 2004, he was pastor of Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg. From 1967 to 1979, he was pastor of the Paradise Charge of the United Church of Christ in Salisbury and New Germany, Md. He is survived by his wife, Ruth G. "Sue" Snyder Rumbaugh. They were married July 15, 1967; two sons: Andrew E. Rumbaugh, Amman, Jordan; and Nathan F. Rumbaugh, Shippensburg; three daughters: Susan E. Hoy and Julie L. Lamb, both of Harrisburg; and Lisa J. Boccio, Coatsville; four sisters: Evelyn L. Colbert, Lexington, Mo.; Phyllis R. Canan, Waynesburg; Sara J. George, Brush Valley; and Bernice E. DuBois, Quakertown; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, in the Grace United Church of Christ with the Rev. William D. Morgan officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Viewing was in the church one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
