Born Dec. 24, 1922 in Jeannette, a son of the late Ross Orlando and Jane St. Claire (Stenhouse) Rumbaugh. Also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Thompson. Survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Virginia Peterson, and four children: Ross Richard Rumbaugh, married to the former Sharon Schafer, Lancaster, and their children, Gregory, Jeffrey and Stephanie; Robert Wallace Rumbaugh, married to the former Rhonda Hitt, Leola, and their children, Michael, Douglas and Craig; beloved daughter Janet St. Claire, wife of David Bruce, Davidsville, and their children, Alliyson, Lindsay, William, Julie and Tanner; and Dr. William Peterson Rumbaugh, married to the former Diane Poehlmann, Beaver Falls, and their children, Kelly, Tyler and Kacie. A brother of Ronald Rumbaugh, State College, Sarah Scherer, Port Allegany, and Darlene Lyons, Erie. Dr. Rumbaugh graduated from Coudersport High School; Pennsylvania State University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His internship and residency was served at Bryn Mawr Hospital and U.S. Navy Medical. He was a member of: Somerset County Medical Society; Pennsylvania Medical Society; American Medical Association; American Fracture Association; and Fellow American Board of Abdominal Surgery. He was chief of staff and chief of surgery at Meyersdale Community Hospital for 15 years. He was a past member of the Board of Trustees at the Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was a past member of the Meyersdale School Board. Dr. Rumbaugh was a member of honorary fraternities and organizations: Alpha Epsilon Delta; Phi Beta Sigma; Phi Mu Alpha; honorary director, honorary coach, President's Club of Penn State University; and Penn State Alumni Blue Band. His social fraternities include: Phi Kappa Psi and Phi Rho Sigma. He was a member of the Meyersdale United Church of Christ. He was CEO of 4-Guys Inc., Meyersdale. His Masonic affiliations include: Benjamin Franklin Lodge #753 F.&A.M., and Hebron Royal Arch Chapter #272, Meyersdale; Uniontown Commandery #49, Uniontown; Consistory, Valley of Harrisburg, AASR Jaffa Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Altoona. A member of BPOE Lodge 1951, and American Legion Post 112, Meyersdale. Friends received from 7-9 p.m., Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Saturday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, with Pastor David Fetter, officiating.
