Rush, 66, died suddenly May 18, 1987, at his home, Accident RD 1, Md. He was born in Confluence on June 16, 1920, the son of Sarah Jane (Thomas) Rush of Confluence, and the late William Rush. He was a farmer and retired school bus driver. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Bowser) Rush. Veteran of World War II, Navy submarine service. Member of Zion Lutheran Church, Friendsville VFW Post 8769 and Garrett County Farm Bureau. Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by two sons, Craig of Portland, Maine; and Norris of Accident, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Beverly Stone, and Mrs. Linda Price, both of Annapolis, Md.; and Mrs. Nancy Berkebile of Accident, Md.; two brothers, Lawrence of Deer Park, Md.; and Roger of Scottdale, Pa.; three sisters, Clara Belle Cannon, and Ms. Millicent Rush, both of Confluence; and Mrs. Leora Lytle of Baltimore, Md.; also, nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Route 219, Accident, Md., Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Interment, Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Military services will be accorded by Friendsville VFW Post 8769. Daily American, November 19, 1987 [R1140]
