Born May 27, 1935; in Hempstead, N.Y. the daughter of Edward Follis and Alice Theresa (McNamara) Long. Preceded in death by parents, son Thomas More Ryan who died April 25, 2003, brother Edward, Long and sisters Ruth Brett and Mary Bulger. Survived by husband William Charles Ryan to whom she was married 45 years, children Cecilia A. wife of David Hughes of Somerset; James E: and wife Renee Twombly Ryan of Auburn, Ala.; Mary A. Ryan of , Savannah, Ga.; Kevin W. and wife Cindy Connelly Ryan of Silver Spring, Md.; Theresa L. wife of Thomas Kumpf of Gamer, N.C.; Maureen A. Ryan of Pittsburgh; Karen M. Ryan of Baltimore, Md.; daughter-in-law Jolene M. Ryan of Alexandria, Va. and grandchildren Thea J. Ryan, Auburn, Ala. and Devon M. Firestone of Savannah, Ga. Member of St. 1953 graduate of Rockville Center High School; 1957 graduate with BS in nursing from Georgetown University. Had received her certified nurse midwife certificate from Frontier School of Nursing. Member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society; American College of Midwives; Certified Nurse Midwife for Somerset OB/GYN Associates. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Committal Somerset County Memorial Park.
