  R. RUSSELL RYLAND 
  
  R. Russell Ryland, 70, of Accident RD 2, died Jan. 5, 1980 at his
  residence.  Born in Friendsville, he was a son of the late E. C. W.
  Ryland and Lillian (Coddington) Ryland.  He was a member of the
  Christian Church of Friendsville and Alcamp 91, Woodmen of the World
  Grantsville, Md.  He had been employed as a machinist at
  Harbison-Walker of Grantsville, Md.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs.
  Mildred (Bittinger) Ryland; a son Donald Ryland, Baltimore, Md.; two
  brothers, William D. Ryland, Nashua, N.H., and Sidney Ryland,
  Sandusky, Ohio; two sisters:  Mrs. C. Marie Harlowi Washington and
  Mrs. Lillian Lawson, Denver, Colo., and a grandchild.  Friends were
  received at the Newman Funeral Home Grantsville.  Services were
  conducted at the Maple Grove Church of Brethren by the Rev. David
  Fetter and the Rev. John Moyers.  Interment will be in the Grantsville
  Cemetery.  The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the
  form of contributions to the Maple Grove Chuurch of Brethren.
