RYMAN Grantsville, Maryland Funeral services for Marvin K. Ryman were held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, July 30, at the Bittinger Lutheran Church. Rev. A. C. Curran, pastor, officiated, and music was furnished by the church choir. Interment was in the Bittinger Cemetery, under the direction of William Winterberg, local mortician. Mr. Ryman, who was 96 years of age, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cecil Woodward, at Magnolia, O. Because of complications brought on by his age his health had been failing for some time. He was born near Wilkes-Barre, Pa., April 14, 1845. He came to Jennings about forty years ago when the first saw mill opened there and had since resided in this section. He engaged in the sawmill and logging business until he retired some years ago. Mr. Ryman was twice married. His first wife died before he moved into the community. His second wife, the former Anna Hayes, died several years ago. For some time Mr. Ryman made his home at Grantsville with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weise. He went to Ohio about a year ago to live with his daughters there. Surviving are Mrs. Earl Husted, Trucksville, Pa., one of the two children born of the first marriage; Mrs. Roy McKenzie, North Industry, O., Mrs. Cecil Woodward, Magnolia, O.; Mrs. Donald Gero, Louisville, O.; Mrs. Robert Weise, Salisbury, Pa.; Mrs. Russell Hoover, Mrs. Harold Hetrick, and Herman Ryman, Grantsville, all of whom were born of the second union; one sister, Mrs. Addie Austin, Dallas, Pa.; twenty-one grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The body was brought to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hoover Tuesday morning where he remained until the services Wednesday. Until recent years Mr. Ryman faithfully attended the Penticostal church. Meyersdale Republican, July 31, 1941
