(Friskie) Ryniak, 88, Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md., formerly of Quemahoning Street, Boswell, went to be with the Lord Nov. 12, 2005, at the home. 11/14/05 Daily American Born April 20, 1917, in Boswell, daughter of Joseph and Susan (Zdilla) Friskie. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank A., 1968; sisters, Agnes Kaniak, Mary Tims and Sister Ann Christine and brothers, Edward, Andrew, Joseph and John. Survived by these children, Barbara "Bunny," married to William Farris, Boswell; Patricia, married to David "Doc" Gontis, Somerset Pike; Carol, married to Robert Shaulis, Jenner Township; Frances, married to Rodger Horner, Clyde; Frank E., married to Vickie Housel, Meyersdale; and Michelene, married to Steve Sansig, rural Boswell; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Balchus, Ingram; special friend, Dolly Zanoni, Boswell, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Life member of All Saints Catholic Parish, formerly St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she had been a choir member since the age of 14. Had been a member of the former St. Barbara Sodality, Goldenairs, the Retirees Club (past secretary), ILGWU, now "Unite Here," the 55 and Over Speeders Club and the auxiliaries to the Boswell American Legion (past secretary) and the Boswell Volunteer Fire Department. Retired employee of the former Dorfman and Hoffman garment factory with 23 years service. Helped cater weddings at St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville, for over 20 years. Was an avid walker and loved to cook and bake, especially for her family. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Church, Boswell. The Rev. Father Justin A. Ratajczak, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
