Mrs. Melissa Edna Shaffer, 52, Acosta, died Sunday in Somerset Community
hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1805 in Somerset, a daughter of the late Jesse
and Anna Yoder Morgan. Survivors are her husband, Walter Shaffer, and these
brothers and sisters: Mrs. Florence Vest, Mrs. James Tunstall, Lester Morgan,
Mrs. Stanley Janechek, all of Acosta; Mrs. James Fazenbaker, Swanton, Md.; Harry
Morgan, Rockwood, RD, and Robert Morgan, Baltimore, Md. One brother and one
sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2:30
p.m. in the Sipesville Church of the Brethren, of which she was a member. The
Rev. Earl Brubaker will officiate, interment in Somerset County Memorial park
under direction of the Hauger Funeral home. Friends are being received in the
late home.
