The Somerset herald: (Somerset, Pa.) 1870-1936: January 17, 1877
At his late residence in Somerset, on Wednesday, the 13th day of December, 1876, Mr.
Joseph Snyder, aged 74 years, 7 months and 7 days. His father, Adam Snyder,
emigrated from Germany to the country in 1746, was married 1775 to Catharine Butman,
had a family of 15 children, of which Joseph was the youngest, and all have preceded
him in death. Brother Snyder was born May 6, 1802, in Somerset. He was confirmed by
the Rev. Schmucker into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1821 and remained a
member for over 56 years…
