The Somerset herald. (Somerset, Pa.) February 09, 1881
Died, on the 23d day of December,  Mr. John A. Snyder, one of the most esteemed and
estimable citizens of Milford township, died at his home… Mr. Snyder was born
October 11, 1818, and at the age of nineteen learned the black-smithing, which trade
be followed for many years, after which he became one of Milford’s most successful
farmers… He united himself with the Lutheran church at Pine Hill...
