The Somerset herald: (Somerset, Pa.) 1870-1936: February 09, 1876
At her home near Shanksville, January 30, 1876, Mrs. Christene Snyder, aged 88
years, 6 months and 1 day; she was born in Quemahoning township, Somerset county,
July 29, 1787, and was married to Henry Snyder May 25, 1821. There were seven
children born to them, four of which are living and well advanced in years. There
are thirty-three grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was a member
of Friedens’ Evangelical Lutheran church for over 63 years...
