(Somerset, Pa.), February 04, 1880 Near Stoystown, Pa., January 9th, 1880, John Steinbaugh, Sr., aged 73 years, 2 months and 11 days. Mr. Steinbaugh was born in the Grand Duchy of Baden, Germany, Oct. 29, A. D. 1806. At the age of fourteen years he became a full member of the Reformed church at his native place, by the solemn rite of confirmation. In the year 1832 he emigrated from Germany to the United States. His subsequent life was spent tn the vicinity of Stoystown. He connected himself with the Reformed church at that place, and continued a devoted member thereof until his death. In the year 1840 he was joined in holy wedlock to Miss Sarah Baker, who, with two sons and two daughters, survives him; two sons having preceded him to the other world. During the last eleven years of his life he was greatly afflicted with rheumatism. For more than three years he was almost entirely helpless. The last few weeks of his life were passed under peculiarly trying circumstances; but he endured his trials with becoming patience, until the Master admitted him to that rest which he has prepared tor his people.
