"Romey," 68, 1403 Chestnut Ave., Barnesboro, died Feb. 8, 1974, at home. Born May 10, 1905, in Altoona, son of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Sembiante) Sabella. Preceded in death by parents and daughter, Dolly. Survived by widow, former Carmella Kelly (Caliguri), and these daughters: Elizabeth "Honey," wife of Louis Chervenak, Jennerstown; Mary Lou "Tootsie,: at home; Dolores, wife of Harold R. Hoover, Patton RD; Carolyn "Chubby," wife of Daniel Ceccoli, Butler; Theresa "Terry," wife of John Golias, Johnstown; also four grandchildren. Brother of James, Armond, Anthony and Mrs. Julia Mastran, all of Barnesboro; Mrs. Bernice Lippolis and Mrs. Sandy Veccaro, both of Vandergrift; Carmen, Cherry Tree; Atty. William and Robert, both of Miami; and Mrs. Mae Agnello, Johnstown. Former secretary of Local Union 617, UMWA, and member of Local 1269, UMWA, Bakerton. Member of Barnesboro Sons of Italy. Long record of employment for Barnes & Tucker and Sterling Coal companies. Retired employe of State Department of Environmental Resources, Bureau of Mines. Friends were received Saturday and Sunday at James J. Long Funeral Home Barnesboro where prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Sunday. A Concelebrated White Mass was said at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Barnesboro Father Joseph Zuinn, T.O.R. was Principal Celebrant. Father Mark Reifel, T.O.R. of Holy Name Church in Ebensburg and Father John Golias of St. Stephen's Church in Cambria City, Johnstown assisted. Father Sylvester Bendzella of Central City also participated in the Mass. The choir of St. Stephen's Church in Cambria City directed by Sister Matthew, Organist sang the Mass. Three of the grandchildren Dana and Michael Hoover and Angela Ceccoli presented the gifts at the Altar at the eucharist of the Mass. Pallbearers were employees of the Department of Environmental Resources: Frank Skupien, Jack Domenick, Bob Garanich, Pete Spinelli, Roger Weyandt, Ron Lightner.
