Saffell, 74, of 2631 Bardorf Rd., Wooster, Ohio, died Thursday, Sept. 11, at Wooster Community Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, Ohio, with Rev. Cletus Leasure officiating followed by burial at Smithville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 243 E. Liberty St., Wooster, Ohio 44691. Mrs. Saffell was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Kregar, Pa. to John and Edna (Shaulis) Sleasman and moved to Wooster in 1960 from Somerset. She worked as a cook for Bishops Drive-in in Wooster and formerly for Summit Diner in Somerset. She is survived by a son, James E. Saffell of Millersburg, Ohio; 3 daughters, Carol Williamson, JoAnn Hall, and Vivian (Martin) Sullivan, all of Wooster; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin "Joe" Grace; second husband, Robert Saffell; an infant daughter; a daughter Shirley Whipkey; a granddaughter; 5 brothers, Harvey, Leo, Donald, Floyd and Cletus Sleasman; and two sisters, Naomi Snively and Julia Sleasman.
