Born Aug. 8, 1935 in Roderfield, W.Va. A son of the late Giles and Alpha (Sluder) Sage. He is survived by his wife Karlyne (Yeager) Sage, a daughter Susan Kay Bartholomai of Bensalem and a son Jerry Lewis Hudson Jr. of Confluence, four grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Sage of Mary-Del, Md., and J.C. Sage of Newark, Del., sister, Virginia Lewis of Kirkwood, Del. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a professional Bluegrass musician for 45 years. A member of the International Bluegrass Musician Association and Somerset FOE Aerie 1801. He toured extensively in the U.S., Canada, Europe and was a former member of the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Boys, Del McCoury, Dixie Pals, White Mountain Bluegrass Band, Warrior, River Boys, and the Wildwood Valley Boys. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service. Rev. A.M. Calkins officiating.
