    Carl Richard Saler, 87, Somerset, died Nov. 7, 2006, at Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home,
  Amherst, Va. Born May 18, 1919, in Meyersdale, a son of Harry B. and Margaret (Hay) Saler.
  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Martha Jewel Brinson, who died Sept. 23,
  2005; brothers, Harold and Bruce Saler; and sister, Helen Walker. Survived by daughters,
  Mrs. Donald L. (Martha) Zerfoss, Somerset; and Ms. Carla Latshaw, Amherst, Va.;
  grandchildren, Mrs. Rick (Polly) Hornig, Mifflinburg; Mrs. Daniel (Coleen) Miller,
  Madison Heights, Va.; Keith Uhl, Amherst, Va.; Gary Scott Uhl, San Antonio, Texas; D.
  Todd Zerfoss, Cape Coral, Fla.; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother of Miss Ferne
  Saler, Somerset; Mrs. Lillian Lloyd, Somerset; Merle Saler-Campbell, New York; and Mrs.
  Marjorie Schlosnagle, Somerset. Member of First Christian Church, IOOF Lodge 438 of
  Somerset. He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Retired as a insurance agent for
  United Insurance Co. of America. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at
  the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at
  the First Christian Church, Somerset. The Rev. Daniel F. Nicksich officiating. Interment
  Somerset County Memorial Park.
