   Ferne Elaine Saler, 90, Somerset, died July 28, 2008, At Somerset Hospital. Born Oct.
  10, 1917, in Brothersvalley Township, the daughter of Harry Bruce and Margaret Marie
  (Hay) Saler. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Bruce, Carl and Harold Saler; and
  sister, Helen B. Walker. Survived by brother and sisters, Lillian Lloyd, Somerset; Merle
  Kenneth Saler and wife, Barbara, Campbell, N.Y.; Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) Schlosnagle,
  Somerset; special aunt to Barbara Brennan, Nancy Stone, Martha Zerfoss, Carla Latshaw,
  Alma Ziegler, James Saler, Juanita Ellis, William R. Lloyd Jr., Kathleen Duigou, Pamela
  Walker-Croyle, Jane Miller, Philip Saler, Peggy Smith and Donald Schlosnagle Jr. A 1933
  graduate of Somerset High School, she worked as an assistant manager for the former JJ
  Newberry Co., retiring in 1979 with 40 years of service. Also a life member of Samuel's
  Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school and was involved in various
  committees. Also a member of the American Legion Post 181 Ladies Auxiliary and she was
  department president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. No viewing or visitation. A
  memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Aug. 9 at Samuel's Lutheran Church, Somerset.
