He was born Jan. 22, 1885, in Palermo, Italy. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Salvia. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marietta and Josephine; one brother, Leo. Survived by his widow, the former Victoria Passalacqua; and these children: Julius of Oxon Hill, Md.; Marietta, wife of Andrew Colucci, Greensburg; and Mrs. Anna Marie Noel, Ligonier. Also, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Sons of Italy Lodge, No. 1780, both of Boswell. He was also a member of Woodman of the World Lodge of Bedford. He was an honorary member of Boswell Volunteer Fire Department. He owned and operated Boswell Hotel for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Salvia celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on July 16, 1978. Friends will be received from noon until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where Wake Service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, Boswell, with the Rev. Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Graveside service by Sons of Italy Lodge. Daily American, December 7, 1978 [S0045]
