Born June 15, 1918, in Gray, son of Thomas and Anna (Chernak) Samole. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Michael and Frank, and sister Mrs. Anna Bodziak. Survived by widow, the former Dorothy Assey, sons John D., U.S. Air Force, Goldsboro, N.C.; and Thomas E., at home. Brother of Nick, Gastonia, N.C., and Mrs. Mary Mawyer, Annapolis, Md. Member and president of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Boswell, also member of UMW of A Local 1742, Jenners; Boswell Post 461 American Legion and Hollsopple Post 8861 VFW. Army veteran of World War II. Employee of GM and W Coal Co. Grove One. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where Parastas will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Prayer service 8:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by funeral mass 9 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul's Church, Rev. John W. Govrusik. Interment, St. Mary's Orthodox Cemetery, Jerome.
