Sanders, 78, Hooversville, died Aug. 26, 1996, at Somerset Hospital. Born Jan. 10, 1918, in Terra Alta, W.Va., son of James A. Sanders and Sarah Jane (Armstrong) Sanders-Champanella. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter; sister, Helen Gorsuch; brother, Darrell, and half-brother, Franklin Champanella. Survived by wife, the former Ruby Stonebreaker; son, Charles E., married to the former Doris Brant of Somerset; daughter, Betty Jane, married to David Nissley, Lancaster; and grandsons, Charles M. Sanders and David C. Nissley. Brother of Mrs. Jack (Madeline) Pysnik, Cairnbrook, and Sarah Maxine Kuzina, Hooversville. Retired coal miner and janitor for North Star Schools. Member of Hooversville United Methodist Church and the UMWA. Life member of Hooversville community activities for many years. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Robert G. Doyle.
