JOHN SANDS, Sr.

  John Sands, Sr., died at his home near Maple Summit on Sunday, April 17th, 
after a long illness, due to the infirmities of age.  John Sands, Sr., was a 
native of Ireland and moved to this country when quite young.  He was born Oct. 
20, 1840, and was aged 82 years, 6 months and 27 days.  He was practically all 
his life a member of the Christian Church, holding his membership at the Sands 
Church, near Maple Summit.  Funeral services were held at the family home on 
Tuesday at 10 a.m., Rev. Workman of the Mill Run Baptist Church officiating.  
Interment in the Sands Cemetery.
