Humbert, East Washington Avenue, Connellsville, at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 23rd, after an illness of about six months, suffering from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Sanner was born in Dawson, Pa., on March 18, 1853, a daughter of the late Rev. J. R. and Dorcas Brown; pioneer residents of Lower Turkeyfoot Township. Her father, Rev. J. R. Brown, was one of the first Baptist ministers with a charge west of the Allegheny Mountains, was founder of the Jersey Baptist Church, and was in the ministry of the Baptist Church for over a period of fifty years. Mrs. Sanner was married to Cyrus M. Sanner 58 years ago. To this union were born two sons and five daughters. One son, Ira, preceded her to the grave some years ago. The following children survive: Mrs. H. C. Humbert, Mrs. J. P. Crouse and Mrs. Marion Snyder, Connellsville; Mrs. Blanche Fitzpatrick, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. C. E. Critchfield, Confluence, and Herbert B. Sanner, Toledo, Ohio. Her husband, Cyrus M. Sanner, also survives, as well as the following brothers and sisters: A. C. Brown, Dawson; Thomas R. Brown, Edward H. Brown, James R. Brown, D. Herbert Brown, and Mrs. Charles W. Kurtz, all of Confluence. One brother, William Brown, preceded her to the grave 35 years ago. Mrs. Sanner was practically all of her life a member of the Baptist Church and affiliated organizations. She was a sincere Christian and a consistent worker in the church of her choice. Her place will be hard to fill in the church. She was a kind and considerate mother, a loving wife and a kind and friendly neighbor, and will be greatly missed by every one who has come into contact with her. Mrs. Sanner was a resident of Confluence and vicinity until last September when she went to Connellsville where she was taken seriously ill. Since that time she lived with her children in Connellsville. The body was brought from Connellsville on Sunday afternoon, and taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Critchfield, on Oden Street. Funeral services were held in the Confluence Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 25th, with Rev. Daniel E. Hartman of the Linesville (Pa.) Baptist Church, a former pastor of the local Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. E. H. Stevens of the First Baptist Church of Connellsville. The pallbearers were five nephews, C. W. Kurtz, Jr., Robert Brown, Lynn Howard, George Brown and Harry Brown, and one grandson, Eugene Humbert. Interment in Baptist Cemetery, West Confluence. Meyersdale Republican, January 28, 1932
