Sanner, treasurer of the Somerset Trust Company, passed away at 5 o'clock last Friday afternoon at his home on East Church Street. His death was due to a heart ailment, from which he had suffered for several weeks. He became ill at noon, after having spent the morning at the bank. Mr. Sanner was associated with the Somerset Trust Company for 17 years, advancing from one position to another. Previous to identifying himself with the trust company, he was assistant cashier of the First National Bank. In early manhood, he was assistant postmaster of Somerset. Frank K. Sanner was an outstanding citizen of Somerset County and was respected and admired by a wide circle of friends. He was an enthusiastic churchman and Sunday school worker, and was president of the Somerset County Sabbath School Association, made intimate contacts with the Sunday school teachers and superintendents of all denominations, who learned to know and love him. Mr. Sanner devoted most of his time when not occupied with banking duties to Sunday school work, in which he was deeply interested for many years. He was the eldest son of Capt. William H. Sanner, aged 90, and Mrs. Lydia Catherine (Huston) Sanner, aged 82, both living in Somerset. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife and two children, Louise, wife of Milford Miller, Berlin, and David, student at State College. His eldest son, Lieutenant George Sanner, U.S. Navy, died several years ago. Lieut. Sanner was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, but resigned to go into business. Archie Sanner, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad passenger conducter; Ross R. Sanner, Recorder of Deeds of Cambria County; William Sanner and Omar Sanner, and Mrs. Robert Hartley, all of Johnstown, are the surviving brothers and sister of Frank K. Sanner. The body of Mr. Sanner was taken to the Christian Church at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, where it lay in state until 3 o'clock when funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. F. Messenger. Interment was in the Somerset Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 15, 1930
