Sanner, 72, of New Lexington, died June 13, 1977, in Rockwood. He was born Oct. 21, 1904, in New Lexington, a son of William F. and Ellen M. (Schultz) Sanner. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Harry, Clarence, Ira Z., Glenn and a nephew, Robert Sanner. Surviving nephews and nieces are: William H. of Markleton; Glenn Jr. of Freeport; Mrs. Nancy Jo Murphy, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Emaline McClintock, Wellington, Maine; Mrs. Mary H. Coleman, Somerset. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville, veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion Post No. 279 of Rockwood, member of the Sons of the American Revolution, IOOF Lodge 1010 of Kingwood. He was a retired rural mail carrier with over 30 years service and was active in the field of geneology [sic]. He was the oldest resident born in New Lexington. Friends will be received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood until noon Thursday when the body will be removed to the Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville for services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gregory Pile officiating.
