Vernon, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1990, in Northside Manor Living Center after a long illness. She was born Feb. 18, 1908, in Somerset, daughter of Elmer D. and Laura B. (Speicher) Walker. A resident of Mt. Vernon since 1938, she was a retired Latin teacher at Mt. Vernon High School; had taught American history for 8 years at Somerset Junior High School. Member of First Presbyterian Church, the Women's Association, College Club, Review and Beethoven Club. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Brose of Columbus, Ohio; a son, David of Erie; four grandchildren; one brother, Samuel E. Walker of West Chester; two sisters: Mrs. Levi (Mildred) Berkey and Mrs. William T. (Marjorie) Doncaster Jr., both of Somerset. She was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Sanner, who died Aug. 24, 1985, and one daughter, Mary Katherine Baer, who died March 31, 1989. Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church, with Richard Vogeley officiating. Daily American, January 12, 1990 [S0122]
