Born Jan. 27, 1949, in Confluence, son of the late Charles "Skinny" and Zelda (Younkin) Sanner. Preceded in death by parents; brothers Everett and Dean Sanner; brothers-in-law Don Wirsing and Ed Ehrlich; and father-in-law Wilkis Walker. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Patty (Walker) Sanner; children Corleen and fiance Scott Schmucker, New Centerville; Kelly, married to David Carr, Rockwood; and Jason Sanner, Rockwood; grandchildren Caitlin Hay, Ariana Stull and Amber and Alex Carr; brothers Peter, married to Nancy Sanner, Rockwood, and Darl, married to Virginia Sanner, Somerset; sisters Faye, married to Leonard Compton, Markleton; Evelyn Wirsing, Confluence; and Alice, married to Ron Carpenter, Xenia, Ohio; and mother-in-law Emeline Walker, Rockwood. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a 1967 graduate of Rockwood Area High School. He was formerly employed by Gribble Transport as a truck mechanic supervisor, and earlier, Tom Moran Trucking, as a coal truck driver. He was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Markleton. He was a Pa. Forest Fire Warden for six years and has been First Assistant Truck Foreman and Firefighter for the New Centerville & Rural Fire Co. for the past 25 years. He was an active member of the company and held several Line Offices in the past. He served 9 1/2 years for Laurel Highland Fire Equipment as chief mechanic, servicing fire trucks in Somerset, Fayette, Westmoreland and Bedford counties. He enjoyed John Deere tractors, Mac trucks, hunting and playing kickball with the grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kingwood Church of God. Pastor James Monticue officiating. Interment at Rockwood Cemetery. The New Centerville Fire Co. will hold a service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
